About me

I possess a diploma of a forester, so nature topics are very close and interesting to me since my studies (back in 1985 I defended my diploma project on nature conservation in a landscape reserve). Since then, my work has always been about nature and tourism - working in the forestry district, in a forest enterprise, at a hunting farm and at a cruise fleet. I was the owner and director of a company that dealt with environmental management and tourism. I am working as a nature guide for over 30 years - during that time I acquired very good knowledge of different countries and regions, where I am guiding guests now.
Currently I am a lecturer at Kaunas Forestry and Environmental Engineering University of Applied Sciences and I am lecturing on nature tourism and landscaping. Besides that I am an author of educational books, and co-author of scientific articles .
While guiding my guest in the nature, I feel content to be able to convey (especially to young people) my knowledge of nature, to promote its preservation, and thus to contribute to this most important thing in the world. I can convey my personal experiences of dramatic climate change during my guiding time.

Why a trip to my region is worthwhile

Baltic countries, Belarus and Russia are still "new" countries for a large part of Western tourists. In the second half of the twentieth century, when tourism was developing very quickly all over the world, it was almost impossible to enter these countries, thus leaving a lot of authenticity there, untouched by mass tourism. Tourists are always fascinated by unknown long history of these countries and unique (not always in a good sense) Soviet heritage.
From the point of view of nature tourism, the region is particularly attractive due to its high forest cover, high percentage of protected areas and relatively low urbanization. lt is dominated by mid-latitude weather, which is suitable for the elderly as well as for tourists with poor health. A very important detail too is, that these countries are comparatively safe countries - without natural disasters and political unrest.
